Between 1 October and 20 November, Etxalar keeps alive the traditional net-hunting of wood pigeons, documented since the 15th century, at the Collado de Lizaieta, 8 km from the village, next to the border with France. It is the only system of this kind still preserved on the Iberian Peninsula.
