Dehesa Boyal of San Sebastián de los Reyes Nature · San Sebastián de los Reyes, Área Metropolitana, Madrid A holm oak and pine wood of some 232 hectares included within the Regional Park of the Upper Manzanares Basin; it was set aside for grazing working livestock from 1493 and is crossed by the seasonal Calverón stream, near the highest point in the municipality. The oxen that grazed there gave the dehesa its name, its origin even predating the founding of San Sebastián de los Reyes, in 1492. It extends north of the town centre, bordering the municipality of Madrid and the Soto de Viñuelas, and is home to wildlife such as wild boar and rabbits; within its boundaries lies the municipal sports centre.
