Termenat castle of Gandesa, documented since 1153 and virtually disappeared after the disentailment; only doubtful remains survive in the carrer del Castell, although the place name and some walls reused in village houses recall its existence. It would have stood on a small rise northwest of the present-day town, between the streets of Castillo and Pes Vell, and is also documented in 1180.
