Settlement charter of Batea

Historical milestone · Batea, Terra Alta, Tarragona

Image of Batea, not of the place itself.

The town was resettled in 1205 under the rule of the Order of the Temple, which administered these lands from the commandery of Miravet. The charter fixed the colonists' rights and the street layout of the old quarter.
