Tower of el Moro II d'Alcanar Monument · Alcanar, Montsià, Tarragona Image of Alcanar, not of the place itself. The Torre d'en Pasqualet, also known as Torre del Moro II, was built in the last quarter of the 16th century, when attacks by Turkish and Arab pirates on the coast intensified, as part of a set of fortified watchtowers in the municipality of Alcanar. It is a quadrangular ashlar stone tower, with the ground floor covered by a barrel vault, a door with a dressed-stone frame and a machicolation on corbels on the upper facade. The roof has been heavily altered to improve drainage, with the addition of a modern porch. It is declared a cultural asset of national interest, with code BCIN 462-MH.
