Medieval Week of Montblanc Activity · Montblanc, Conca de Barberà, Tarragona The Setmana Medieval de Montblanc re-enacts, between 22 April and 1 May, the legend of Sant Jordi which, according to Joan Amades's Costumari Català, is said to have taken place in this town in the Conca de Barberà. It began in 1987, when a group of young people organised the first performance of the legend in the main square; that same year the Associació Medieval de la Llegenda de Sant Jordi was formed. Over the fifteen days of the festival there are, in succession, a medieval market and craft fair —the most crowded of the events, and the first of its kind in Catalonia—, taverns, trials and tournaments, and the theatrical performance of the Llegenda de Sant Jordi, with lights, sound and special effects, making use of the town's walls. The Corts Catalanes of 1307 and 1414 are also re-enacted in the churches of Santa Maria and Sant Miquel. Photo: Angela Llop from Spain (CC BY-SA 2.0) What to see and do in Montblanc
