Milà Tower

Medieval watchtower, also known as the Torre de Cal Saumell, located in the municipality of el Montmell, next to the road from Aiguaviva to Vila-rodona; it has given its name to the hill on which it stands. It is a circular tower less than three metres in diameter and seven metres high, with the lower space closed by a false vault; originally it had an upper floor where the access door opened. Inside, remains of opus spicatum are preserved, the herringbone-bond technique typical of early medieval buildings.
