El Círcol Building Monument · Reus, Baix Camp, Tarragona The building of the Societat El Círcol, on the Plaça de Prim in Reus, forms part of the urban ensemble it shares with the Teatre Fortuny. It was designed in 1882 by the architect Francesc Blanch i Pons in an eclectic style with neoclassical features, with three storeys above a portico, a continuous balcony with a stone balustrade on the first floor, and cornices decorated with Tuscan elements. Its interior retains a Modernista decoration, largely designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The society, founded in 1852, acquired ownership of the building in 1920 and installed heating in 1927; dissolved after the Civil War in 1940, it recovered its premises in 1947.
