Church of Santa Maria de Cap d'Aran Monument · Naut Aran, Val d'Aran, Lleida Church of Santa Maria de Cap d'Aran, considered the most important church of Aranese Romanesque. It was a former 13th-century Templar convent, exempt from paying the Galin Reiau, and, in the Middle Ages, a hospital for travellers crossing the Port de la Bonaigua. Its three-naved, three-apsed fabric dates from the late 11th century, with a major renovation in the 12th; it preserved Romanesque murals attributed to the circle of the Master of Pedret, now in the Cloisters Museum in New York.
