FiraTàrrega is the most important and longest-running international performing arts market in Spain, and one of the most significant in Europe. It is held every year on the second weekend of September in Tàrrega, capital of the Urgell county (Lleida). It is a showcase for current performing arts, with special interest in street arts, visual performances and unconventional shows, and seeks to boost the performing arts market and the internationalisation of Catalan companies. It is organised by a board comprising the Tàrrega town council, the Diputació de Lleida, the Generalitat and the Ministry of Culture. It was founded in 1981 by the town council, driven by the group Comediants de Canet de Mar.
