Town Hall (Paeria) of Cervera Monument · Cervera, Segarra, Lleida Baroque building of the 17th and 18th centuries that presides over Cervera's Plaça Major, in the Segarra, considered one of the most original achievements of Catalan Baroque civil architecture. Although a building serving as the paeria already existed in the 14th century, the present one was built under the direction of Francesc Puig from 1679, was completed in 1688 with the collaboration of his son, also named Francesc, and was extended in 1786 to a design by Jaume Padró. Its façade, arranged as a symmetrical body centred on the doorway and a large window, has survived practically unaltered. The building was restored between 1985 and 1990 under the direction of the architect Enric Solsona. It is declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection). Photo: Enric (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Cervera
