Church of Sant Llorenç d'Isavarre Monument · Alt Àneu, Pallars Sobirà, Lleida Romanesque church from the 12th century, already documented in 1064, when an agreement between Ramon VI and Artau I incorporated Isavarre into the county of Pallars Sobirà; it was linked to the monastery of Santa Maria de Gerri until 1368. With a single nave and barrel vault, extended with chapels and a tower belfry, it preserves a portal with three archivolts decorated with rosettes, supported by plain columns topped with capitals showing human faces and confronted birds, comparable to other portals in the valley. Much altered, it nevertheless retains two decorated stone basins -one baptismal and the other for oils-. Its old Romanesque wall paintings are now preserved, divided between the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, the Museu Diocesà d'Urgell and the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio (USA).
