Church of Sant Andreu de València d'Àneu Monument · Alt Àneu, Pallars Sobirà, Lleida The church of Sant Andreu de València d'Àneu is the Romanesque parish church of the village of València d'Àneu, in the municipality of Alt Àneu (Pallars Sobirà, Lleida). It is attributed to the 12th century on stylistic grounds, since there is no medieval documentation about it. It is a single-nave building with a semicircular apse, covered with groin vaults, chapels on the north and south sides, a Pallars-style tower belfry at the southeast corner and a door, sheltered by a porch, to the southwest; built with unpolished granite ashlar blocks. Beneath the roof of the apse runs a cornice with a chequered pattern, and several corbels display geometric motifs. In the Museu Diocesà d'Urgell three fragments of the apse's wall painting are preserved, with a scene of the Epiphany. Photo: ca:user:amadalvarez (CC BY 2.5) What to see and do in Alt Àneu
