Walls of Tremp Monument · Tremp, Pallars Jussà, Lleida Of the six original defense towers of the wall of Tremp, circular in plan and of small, irregular rubble masonry, three survive: the Torre dels Padres (heavily restored), that of la Sagristia (the best preserved), and that of Mingo (the most deteriorated, today a dwelling). Their origin is disputed between the 12th century (according to the historian Mir i Amat) and the first documentary mention of 1381, when Pere III authorized Tremp to levy taxes to repair walls and moats; reinforced in the 17th century during the Catalan revolt, they were progressively torn down starting in 1876.
