The fiesta mayor of la Torre de Cabdella is celebrated in a valley with two 11th-12th-century Romanesque churches, Sant Vicenç de Cabdella and Sant Martí de la Torre, the latter documented since the year 996; between 1911 and 1914 the Cabdella hydroelectric power station was built here, the first great Catalan power plant, which harnesses an 840-meter head of water.
