Castle documented since 1048, when it appears in the deed of consecration of Sant Salvador d'Àger; in 1057 Arnau Mir de Tost ceded it to Guillem Ramon, and in 1066 it was assigned to the chapter table of the canonry of Sant Pere d'Àger.
