Gothic castle from around 1375, transformed into a Renaissance palace in 1569 by the master builder Joan Longos, who added a stone tower, staircases, and new windows; it passed through the Beatriu-Cornell family, Roger de Pallars, and the counts of Cardona, and in the 17th century to the Medinaceli and Subies families. Today it is divided among several owners -the bishopric, Franciscans, private individuals, and a real-estate company- which makes unified conservation difficult. A Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's top heritage-protection category) (852-MH).
