Church of Sant Climent de Taüll Monument · la Vall de Boí, Alta Ribagorça, Lleida The most emblematic of the Romanesque churches of the Vall de Boí, famous for its six-storey bell tower and the Pantocrator originally kept in its apse. It stands at the south-western entrance to the settlement of Taüll, near Santa Maria de Taüll, with which it shared parish status for much of the Middle Ages. It was consecrated on 10 December 1123 by Sant Ramon, bishop of Roda, a day before Santa Maria. Of basilical plan, it has three naves separated by cylindrical columns, a gabled timber roof and a chevet with one apse and two apsidioles; the walls are of well-cut small granite ashlars. The bell tower, square in plan and six storeys high, stands on the south façade, very close to the apses. Photo: wsrmatre (CC BY-SA 2.0) What to see and do in la Vall de Boí
