Caldes de Boí Nature · la Vall de Boí, Alta Ribagorça, Lleida A sanctuary with a spa and an attached hamlet, at 1,470 metres above sea level, on the right bank of the Noguera de Tor, in the municipality of la Vall de Boí (Alta Ribagorça), within Catalonia's only national park. It owes its name to the area's numerous mineral-medicinal springs: the best known, the font del Bou, is bottled and sold as mineral water declared mineral-medicinal in 1887; the font de la Tartera is also used as medicinal water, and the font de Santa Llúcia for treating the eyes. The sanctuary, dedicated to the Mare de Déu, has been documented since the Middle Ages, although the current building is mostly from the modern era. It is located at kilometre 20 of the L-500 road, 8.5 kilometres north of Barruera, the seat of the municipality. Photo: Gustau Erill i Pinyot (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in la Vall de Boí
