Santa Maria de les Llosses Monument · Les Llosses, Ripollès, Girona The church of Santa Maria de les Llosses, of 12th-century Romanesque origin, stands in the middle of the Les Llosses valley, in the Ripollès, atop a small hill, serving as the parish church for a group of scattered houses. It is a single-nave building, covered by a pointed barrel vault and closed at the east end by a semicircular apse with three double-splayed windows, decorated on the outside with Lombard blind arcades; inside, the walls were altered to open three chapels within the thickness of the masonry. The sacristy, attached on the north side, and the rectory, on the west, are of a later period. It is entered through a round-arched doorway in the south wall, above which rises the tower-type bell tower, with twin windows and a four-sided roof.
