Sant Pere de Viella Monument · Vilademuls, Pla de l'Estany, Girona Image of Vilademuls, not of the place itself. A chapel of Romanesque origin, from the 13th century, located in the neighbourhood of Viella, in the village of Vilafreser, within the municipality of Vilademuls. It has a semicircular apse, of which only remains survive, and a nave covered with a slightly pointed vault; the façade preserves the double-arched portal, a round-arched window and the two-bayed bell-gable. Documented since 1276, next to it stood an old cemetery of which a gravestone survives. On one of the stones of the interior cornice a relief with two human faces was preserved, now removed. The last owner of the building, heir of the Baron of Quadras, ordered its demolition in 1991 and sold the most valuable stones; the rest of the structure remains covered by vegetation.
