The Tower of Pujals dels Cavallers Monument · Cornellà del Terri, Pla de l'Estany, Girona Gothic farmhouse (masia) in Cornellà del Terri declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection), of rectangular plan with rubble-stone walls and ashlar at the corners; notable features include the square tower with a hip roof, a voussoired main doorway and a Gothic window with an ogee arch, small arches and decorated imposts, and ceilings made of oak beams. According to the historian Father Constans, the tower is documented from the 11th to the 15th century, though the present building preserves 15th-century structures with later additions. It belonged first to the Pujals, a lineage documented since 1019, then to the Foixà family and, in the past century, to the Galibern family of Torroella; in the early 14th century, a canon of Girona Cathedral named Dalmau de Pujals, whose sarcophagus lies in the cathedral cloister, belonged to this same lineage.
