Can Basses (la Torre) Monument · Camós, Pla de l'Estany, Girona Image of Camós, not of the place itself. Can Basses is a farmhouse of irregular plan, built in different stages from the 14th to the 18th century, added to a former square keep. Initially of two wings, the extensions gave it three, and the complex came to be fortified around a small courtyard. The tower preserves a machicolation supported by a vault, an extension of a lateral bay, and a mullioned window with a slender-shafted column and a capital with vegetal decoration. On the rear façade a porch opens with two large round arches, above which rises a series of openings for a granary. The building displays fine ashlar at the door and window frames and at the corners. It is declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection) (BCIN 601-MH). Photo: Josep Maria Viñolas Esteva (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Camós
