Park of les Deveses de Salt Nature · Salt, Gironès, Girona Image of Salt, not of the place itself. A natural river area beside the Ter with waymarked trails where wildlife such as otters, Spanish pond turtles and ospreys can be observed. Its protection has allowed the conservation of an environment of great natural interest despite being next to an urban centre of more than a hundred thousand inhabitants. It is also home to badgers, hedgehogs, shrews, weasels and wildcats, birds such as cormorants, herons and greylag geese, reptiles such as wall lizards and water snakes, and amphibians such as toads, frogs and newts. Its waters are home to barbel, catfish and carp, and the riverside vegetation brings together willows, alders, maples and poplars along with water lilies and reed beds; storks and otters have been reintroduced in the park.
