Fair of el Bolet de Llagostera

A mycological fair held in the old quarter of Llagostera every 12 October since 2003, heir to the long mushroom-picking tradition between the Gavarres and l'Ardenya mountain ranges, and which allows visitors to climb the narrow spiral staircase of the Sant Feliu bell tower to enjoy the best views of the town. Its central feature is a market set in the atmosphere of the early 20th century, with about a hundred stalls, demonstrations of trades, exhibitions and tastings of mushroom-related products. Around it, children's workshops, pony rides, drummers' parades and falconry displays are organised, as well as Gastronomic Days of Mushroom Cuisine. The fair awards several prizes and draws close to 10,000 visitors.
