The Festa Major de Llagostera brings together popular and musical events over several days in May. Among its traditions are the town's giants (gegants): the old pair, Trencanúvols and Elionor, named by the town's schoolchildren, was first presented on 19 May 1956, while the new pair, Zenó de Montagut and Elena de Ridaura, representing ancient Iberian settlers of the 6th century BC, debuted at the 1999 Festa Major; both pairs are managed by the Colla Gegantera de Llagostera.
