The settlement charter of Santa Pau

The barons of Santapau granted in 1300 to the inhabitants of the walled enclosure privileges and exemptions from feudal burdens in order to attract settlers; the barony came to gather ten parishes and was one of the largest jurisdictions of the Garrotxa.
