Cave of el Bisbe Nature · Tamariu (Palafrugell), Baix Empordà, Girona Image of Tamariu (Palafrugell), not of the place itself. The Cova del Bisbe is a cave in the mediolittoral zone, formed by fracture erosion, near Tamariu (Palafrugell), barely able to shelter a small boat in the event of a summer downpour. It owes its name to a yellowish stain in which sailors believed they saw the figure of a bishop, especially the mitre he wore on his head. It has belonged to the municipality of Palafrugell since the recent agreement to modify the boundary with the municipality of Begur.
