Santa Maria de Bell-lloc d'Aro Monument · Santa Cristina d'Aro, Baix Empordà, Girona A church located in the old district of Bell-lloc d'Aro, formerly called Filafamis, one of the four districts that were merged into the present municipality of Santa Cristina d'Aro when it separated from Castell d'Aro in the 19th century, in the Vall d'Aro (Baix Empordà). It was built over earlier Roman and Palaeochristian structures. This parish, made up of scattered farmhouses, was always the least populated of the four that make up the municipality. Near the church stood the Bell-lloc - Font Picant railway halt, opened in 1892 on the line linking Sant Feliu de Guíxols and Girona, and mineral waters known as fonts picants sprang up in the area, among them those of Bell-lloc, Penedes and Salenys.
