GR-92 through the Baix Empordà

The GR-92 is a 561 km long-distance footpath running along the Catalan coast, and as it passes through the Baix Empordà it crosses municipalities such as Torroella de Montgrí, Begur, Palafrugell and Palamós, among others. In this stretch, organised into stages such as Sant Martí d'Empúries-Torroella de Montgrí (20 km), Torroella-Begur (21.3 km) and Begur-Palamós (23 km), the route combines coves, beaches and Mediterranean landscapes with coastal ranges such as the Montgrí massif and the Gavarres range, while also passing close to the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà wetlands and the ruins of Empúries.
