Sant Genís de Casavells Monument · Corçà, Baix Empordà, Girona A small Romanesque church located in the hamlet of Casavells, in the municipality of Corçà, within the notable ensemble of rural Romanesque architecture of the Baix Empordà. First mentioned in 1071, in 1182 it was placed under the Augustinian canonry of Santa Maria d'Ullà, on which several parishes of the comarca depended. It has a single nave with a semicircular apse and pointed vault, with remains of the original round-arched portal, while the present Baroque portal bears the year 1722 engraved on it. On the north side stands a small square-plan tower belfry, with a storey of twin windows with small arches, colonnettes and capitals, whose origin could date back to the 10th or 11th centuries.
