Sant Martí de Calonge Monument · Calonge i Sant Antoni, Baix Empordà, Girona The church of Sant Martí de Calonge, in Calonge i Sant Antoni (Baix Empordà), has its present façade dated to 1767 as recorded on the main portal, facing east, with an elegant doorway protected by a wooden screen. The bell tower, of square plan and three storeys, located on the south side, preserves much of its original Romanesque structure, with old ashlars and the fragment of a round-arched window, reused when the church was rebuilt. Inside, a single very wide nave with eight side chapels leads to a polygonal head covered with a round-arched vault. The church suffered damage in 1936 and its roofs were restored in August 1992.
