Beach of l'Almadrava Nature · Roses, Alt Empordà, Girona Semi-urban beach of fine sand and intensely blue waters, also known as Canyelles Grosses, sheltered from the tramontana. It takes its name from the l'Almadrava development, which together with Canyelles and Santa Rosa de Puig-rom forms a population entity of Roses (Alt Empordà). Nearby, on the Puig Rom hill that closes the bay of Roses on that side, a Visigothic castrum is preserved. Photo: Isidro Jabato (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Roses
