Beach of Grifeu Nature · Llançà, Alt Empordà, Girona Urban sandy beach of Llançà, made up of sand, gravel and pebbles, 160 metres long and 34 metres wide, flanked to the north and south by stretches of rock that give it the feel of a secluded corner. It is reached from the N-260 road or on foot from Llançà along the coastal path, and nearby stands the Hotel Grifeu, right at the water's edge. It has given its name to the historic Grifeu Basketball Club of Llançà, and in 1962 the poet Josep Palau i Fabre settled there, although he later shared his residence with Barcelona. Awarded the Blue Flag, its water quality is checked weekly during the bathing season, always with excellent results. Photo: Quelet (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Llançà
