Tamariua Cove Nature · el Port de la Selva, Alt Empordà, Girona A cove located on the Cap de Creus peninsula, one kilometre from the centre of El Port de la Selva, within the Cap de Creus Natural Park. It is framed by Cap Mitjà and the island of Sant Andreu to the east and the Punta del Bot Nou to the west, facing north and well protected by the two rock walls that flank it. It is 79 metres long and 22 metres wide on average, with coarse-grained sand, and nudism is practised there. It can be reached by car, and from its eastern side runs the coastal path leading to the coves of Cativa, Torta and Fornells. The name Tamariua comes from the tamarisks that grow in the area thanks to the water of the Rec de Puignau and the Rec de la Tamariua.
