Galladera Cove Nature · Cadaqués, Alt Empordà, Girona Image of Cadaqués, not of the place itself. Cala Galladera is a small bay on the Cap de Creus coast, in the municipality of El Port de la Selva, on the boundary with Cadaqués, within the natural park. Facing east, it is well sheltered from the tramontane wind by the coast's inward-curving shape; it retains a small hut built by fishermen from Llançà. It has a maximum depth of 5 metres, with a seabed covered in posidonia, although in recent years the presence of the invasive alga Caulerpa cylindracea has been detected there. It is separated from Cala Portaló by the pointed silhouette of the island of the same name. In 1994 the remains of a 1st-2nd century BC shipwreck were discovered on its seabed, a ship laden with wine amphorae that had set sail from Empúries and been caught by a storm.
