Culip Cove Nature · Cadaqués, Alt Empordà, Girona Cala Culip is a small bay in the Cap de Creus Natural Park, in the municipality of Cadaqués, facing north and separated from Cala Jugadora by the isthmus of the headland. It contains the beaches dels Pescadors and es Gentils, and beneath its waters lies a veritable graveyard of Phoenician, Greek and Roman shipwrecks, for the cove, strewn with rocky reefs and fully exposed to the tramontane wind, proved a trap in bad weather. Its name, formerly Calipo, may be linked to the nymph Calypso, who made Odysseus fall in love with her in Greek mythology. This landscape inspired several works by Salvador Dalí, such as The Great Masturbator. Photo: Castellbo (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Cadaqués
