Church of Sant Pere de Terrassa Monument · Terrassa, Vallès Occidental, Barcelona The church of Sant Pere de Terrassa is part of the episcopal complex of Ègara, seat of a bishopric created around the year 450 when it split off from that of Barcelona, and which lost importance with the Muslim invasion of the 8th century. The present building, from the 12th century, preserves early medieval paintings and some walls and elements of the original 6th-century construction. It is the largest of the complex's three churches, together with Sant Miquel and Santa Maria, with a trilobed apse and transept, and holds a 10th-century stone altarpiece considered unique of its kind. The complex was declared a national monument in 1931 and a historic-artistic asset in 1985, and today it is part of the Museu de Terrassa. Photo: Enric (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Terrassa
