Tower of guaita de Cal Baró de Ribelles

A Gothic tower located in the municipality of Alella, in the Maresme, declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest; it is the only tower of cylindrical plan in the municipality. It rises on the right-hand side of the farmhouse to which it belongs, standing taller to serve as a watch and defence point, and has four storeys: on the outside there is a small stone window at the bottom, two Gothic ogee-arched windows on the central levels and three machicolations on the top floor. Inside, the four levels are vaulted, and the whole masonry building is topped with battlements.
