Tower of Cal Doctor Monument · Alella, Maresme, Barcelona Cal Doctor is a farmhouse in Alella, in the Maresme, listed as a Cultural Asset of Local Interest. Formerly called Can Pujades de Munt, it was the ancestral home of the Pujades, one of the oldest families in the municipality, documented since the 13th century; between the 17th and 18th centuries it was the residence of three generations of doctors, hence its present name. It has a ground floor and one upper floor, with a large voussoired doorway possibly from the 14th century and a mullioned window on the central axis, as well as a wrought-iron balcony with a tiled floor. At the rear stands a square tower topped with battlements. The restored façade preserves a sgraffito sundial, although much altered from the original.
