Caves and Potholes of the Garraf Massif Nature · Olivella, Garraf, Barcelona Image of Olivella, not of the place itself. Karst system of the Garraf massif, near Olivella, with more than four hundred documented cavities, one of the most important in Catalonia. It formed mainly in limestone and dolomite from the middle Triassic and the Cretaceous, which have given rise to surface karst forms — rasas, dolines, lapiaz fields — and underground ones, caves and potholes. Among the cavities, the Falconera stands out, a vast cave with a large underground lake, today polluted. Photo: Viquipèdia (CC BY-SA 2.5) What to see and do in Olivella
