Mountain range of Castelltallat Nature · Sant Mateu de Bages, Bages, Barcelona A mountain range located between the east of Anoia and the south of Solsonès, most of which belongs to the municipality of Sant Mateu de Bages, while its westernmost end lies within the boundaries of Pinós and la Molsosa. The old village of Castelltallat, an independent municipality until 1840, is today a parish within Sant Mateu de Bages; its church of Sant Miquel, at 887 metres above sea level, stands at the foot of the old castle of Castelltallat and combines Romanesque, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical styles in its fabric. Next to the castle and the church is the Castelltallat Astronomical Observatory, an observation centre where artists and musicians also stay, recognised in 2025 with the Starlight starlight-reserve seal.
