Els Castellots Monument · la Llacuna, Anoia, Barcelona Image of la Llacuna, not of the place itself. Els Castellots is the name of the ruins of a medieval fortified house located in the municipality of la Llacuna (Anoia), declared Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection). They are located near the les Vilates area and form part of a fortified mas, with the typical houses of the area, of stone and a double-pitched roof, comprising numerous buildings and a large entrance courtyard. It was formerly known as cal Martí del Bosc, to distinguish it from the mother house of mas Martí, and formed part of the quadra of Vilademàger, dependent for a time on the castle of Rocamora. Local tradition holds that this house was inhabited by saint Maria de Cervelló (Barcelona, 1230-1290), founder and first superior of the Mercedarian nuns.
