The mayor who minted coins

The magistrate Rodrigo Maldonado held the castle tyrannically and went so far as to strike coin without royal licence. Fernando the Catholic travelled from Medina del Campo to seize him and bring him before the fortress, which his wife was defending and which finally surrendered.
