Clock House of Quintanilla de Somoza Curiosity · Luyego, La Cabrera, León Image of Luyego, not of the place itself. The Casa del Reloj, the former council building or town hall of Quintanilla de Somoza, a village in the municipality of Luyego (León) belonging to the Maragatería region, marked the communal time of the village with its bell and remains today the landmark of the hamlet, next to the church of San Salvador. Quintanilla, considered one of the prettiest villages in the area for the quality of its stone buildings in Maragato architecture, also preserves the hermitage of Santa Ana and the ruins of San Salvador, as well as cobblestone paving and several fountains that originally served as drinking troughs for livestock. The church of San Salvador stands out for its south porch and tall bell tower, and houses inside a high altarpiece by Gregorio Español, from the early 17th century.
