Parish church of Grisuela del Páramo Monument · Bustillo del Páramo, El Páramo, León A single-nave church, characteristic of the churches of the León Páramo region and the best-preserved example, built with traditional materials -Arabic tile, rammed earth and wood- except for the masonry and exposed brick of the bell-gable and belfry. Octagonal in plan, it is notable for its coffered timber ceiling (alfarje) with a series of mouldings forming a kind of entablature. On the main altarpiece an inscription dated 1777 marks its date, and the carving of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, patron of the parish, presides over the ensemble. Declared a monument on 17 November 1975, it is the only protection of that rank in a municipality of eight settlements spread across the plain between the Órbigo and the upper Páramo.
