Santa Coloma del Rudrón Curiosity · Sargentes de la Lora, Páramos, Burgos Santa Coloma del Rudrón is a hamlet in the municipality of Sargentes de la Lora, at the bottom of the Rudrón valley, which had 11 inhabitants in 2013 and lies 12 kilometres south of the municipal capital. Its residents have always lived off farming the threshing floors that surround it. It preserves a fountain from 1913, a Roman bridge, the Renaissance parish church, with a rococo altarpiece from the second half of the eighteenth century, and old beehives once used to extract honey. Its name recalls Santa Columba, martyred in Córdoba in the year 853, and it lies within the Hoces del Alto Ebro y Rudrón nature reserve.
