Dolmen of la Cabaña Nature · Sargentes de la Lora, Páramos, Burgos The dolmen of La Cabaña stands north-west of Sargentes de la Lora, beside the Navazal stream, and is among the best preserved of the more than thirty dolmens in the Páramos comarca. It is a gallery grave: its chamber, about three metres across, is formed by seven large limestone slabs over two metres high that project above the mound, and it opens to the outside through a five-metre passage to the south-east. The mound, badly worn, reaches sixteen metres at its longest. Inside, the bone remains of at least fourteen people have been found, along with grave goods including microliths, an arrowhead, a scraper and ornamental beads, which date it to around the second half of the fourth millennium BC. Declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) in 1993, it is reached along a signposted path.
