Patronal festivities of El Carpio de Tajo held from July 24 to 27 in honor of Santiago Apóstol, with races of harnessed horses through the streets of the village, one of the oldest equestrian traditions in the area. The riders parade to the sound of the dulzaina and the tabor in the so-called Alborada de los Caballos, and the traditional Correr los Gansos is also kept up, in which the heads are pulled off geese previously slaughtered and tied along the route.
