The green corridor running along the Talavera bank of the Tagus preserves stretches of vegetation with white poplar, willows and tamarisk, although much of this riverbank is degraded through neglect and the lack of restoration work. A 2011 project proposes acting on 250 hectares between the Alberche bridge and the New Bridge to create a peri-urban natural park, with restoration of the riverside forest, river beaches, cycle lanes, sports facilities and leisure areas.
